Our Nephrology Department provides comprehensive care across the spectrum of kidney diseases. Emerging science, new technology, and improvements in diagnostics and patient care have enabled our nephrologists to treat kidney and renal disease more successfully. We have an eminent team of kidney transplant specialists, nephrologists, urologists and the technical expertise needed to meet the challenges of this life saving procedure. Acute and chronic renal diseases caused by diabetes mellitus, hypertension, stone disease, infections, hereditary illness and poisons are diagnosed and managed.
We provide a variety of services such as :
- Evaluation of complex renal problems,
- Diagnostic renal biopsy,
- Acute hemodialysis and ultrafiltration,
- Slow continuous dialysis and ultrafiltration,
- Continuous arteriovenous hemofiltration (CAVH),
- CAVH-dialysis and CVVH.
In some patients the extent of kidney damage may be too severe to allow any improvement through medicines alone. In such cases the doctors would advise the patient to opt for renal replacement therapy to replace the function of the failing kidneys, namely – hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis or renal transplantation. Our treating nephrologist discuss with the patient and hi/her family about the advantages and disadvantages of each dialysis in detail.
